Why I kept it.
I like how little conflict there is between the old structure and the city behind it. The pavilion is not presented as a sealed historical object; it is simply part of the same working urban space.
The curved bridge gives the frame its route. Your eye moves across the pond, through the pavilion and then into the office blocks beyond.
