Field note

Why I kept it.

I pass this kind of infrastructure often enough that it normally disappears into the background. At dusk the silhouettes make the layout readable again: poles, cables, towers and warning lights, all connected and still working.

It is not the usual picture of Galway, but it is a real part of the city. I kept it because the practical side of a place can be as distinctive as the postcard view.
